Our editorial path

How this project came together

2024 — Starting point

A small group in Sheffield began collecting UK-facing research summaries on food and ageing, noticing few plain-language resources written specifically for adults over 40.

2025 — Editorial framework

Stalvon set out a working process: source review, plain-English drafting and a standing disclaimer on every page, so readers always know the boundaries of what an editorial site can offer.

2026 — Six-guide collection

The current set of long-form guides was published, each focused on one aspect of gut health after 40, from fibre and fermented foods to the gut-brain relationship.

Notes from the editorial desk

Questions we return to often

"Readers often want to know where to start. We usually point them to food variety first, before anything else."

— Editorial team, Stalvon

"A recurring theme in the research we read is how much day-to-day routine, not just diet, seems to matter."

— Editorial team, Stalvon

"We try to write the article we would want to read ourselves: clear, sourced, and honest about what is still uncertain."

— Editorial team, Stalvon
